Class Description:
Business Law is a project based course that will use debates, case studies and real-life simulations to introduce you to the basics of business law through a focus on contract law, consumer law, employment law, and business legal structures. After completion of this course, you will gain an understanding of the nature of contractual relationships, legally binding contracts, consumer protection legislation, employer-employee relationships, and legal responsibilities associated with ownership of a business. Knowledge of business law is useful for all students because they will eventually assume roles as citizens, workers, and consumers in their communities and society at large.

You will be expected to complete/participate in the following items throughout the semester:

Policy:
All evaluation items will have a point value assigned (ie. 5 pts, 10 pts, 20 pts).
Assignments are to be done by you, not your friend. Expect to receive a zero for all work on which you are caught cheating and this applies to both the cheater and cheatee. This means you should protect your work and password at all times.
School grading scale
will be used.
Grades are on a
weighted basis. Tests and Quizzes/Projects count 40% each and Daily Work is 20%.
